A Reaction to Wall Street Riots
Ps 37:30 The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just. Herman Cain said of Wall Street protesters: “Don’t blame the big banks. If you don’t have a job and you are not rich, blame yourself.” Several hours later, he said of the same people: “They might be frustrated with Wall Street and bankers, but they are directing their anger at the wrong place. Wall Street didn’t put in failed economic policies…They ought to be over in front of the White House taking out their frustrations.” I have always have a nagging thought that some well-to-do folks see poor people as lazy, laid-back, and lacking in drive for success. Herman Cain ’s first comment smacks of this kind of view. His second comment seems more measured and thought out.
